This 4 Days Kidepo Savannah wildlife safari: will basically take you to one of Uganda’s finest national park. It is nestled in the Northeastern region of Uganda in Kaabong district and the only isolated park in Uganda. In fact, it also referred to as the “The true Africa’s wilderness”. Kidepo valley national park harbors a variety of wildlife that cannot be found anywhere else in Uganda. Note that the park has got over 75 mammal species and over 470 bird species. Here, you will be able to enjoy different activities like game drives, nature walks and the community visits.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Approximate Travel Time: 9 Hours.
After your early breakfast, you will begin on your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. Upon arrival you will check in your lodging for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game Drive-Cultural experience
After breakfast, you will do a game drive in Kidepo vallye. Here, you will most likely be able to view animals that are unique to the African savannah. These include; the grant’s gazelle, lesser kudu, beisa Oryx lions, hyenas, dik dik, giraffes, elephants, striped jackals, etc. The splendid dominated palm forest and the stunning view of the Narus valley situated in the southwest part of the park.
After lunch, you’ll rest a bit and resume another adventure in the evening. With an experience local guide, you will head to the IK community located outside the park. However, you will have to hike up the Morungule Mountain where are they are located. You will have personal interactions with them and see them go about their routine activities. You will also enjoy their unique cultural practices making it an amazing cultural experience. After the cultural tour, you will return to your lodging for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Nature walk – Evening game drive
Early morning after breakfast, you will visit the beautiful Kanangorok hot springs. The word kanangorok basically means “place of black stones” in the local karamojong dialect. Besides, it is the only hot spring in the karamoja region. Thereafter, you will enjoy a game drive through the Narus-Valley. Here, you will come across elephants, giraffes, several buffaloes, zebras, cheetahs, lions, and leopards, in addition to the numerous birds, etc.

Day 4: Head back to Kampala/Entebbe
On day four, after having your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge. On the way, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery as you drive back to Kampala/Entebbe.
Best time to visit Kidepo Valley National Park
The park is open for tourism throughout the year, however the best time to visit is in September to March which is perfect for game viewing animals which gather around Narus valley for water since this is a dry period. Therefore the best weather and peak season months are September, October, November and March and the worst time to visit the park is in April and May since these are the wettest months of the area.
