This 8 days Gorillas & Wildlife Safari : takes you to the Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda, renowned for its scenic beauty and the spectacular falls from which it derives its name. You will enjoy memorable game drives, a boat cruise and viewing of the mesmerizing scenery in this national park. The safari will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see abundant bio-diversity of wildlife, amazing picturesque scenery and to enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel with awesome opportunities to spot water birds and aquatic animals. The climax of the safari will be an encounter with the elusive Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and to interact with the former forest people, “the Batwa”, who used to live in this forest before it was gazetted as a National Park.

Day 1: Arrival-Transfer to the hotel
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred by a representative from Great Nest Image Safaris to your place of accommodation. You will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park-Ziwa rhino sanctuary-Top of the falls
After an early breakfast, you will set off for North Western Uganda to the tranquil Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary the only place in Uganda where you are able to view rhinos in their habitant and while here, you will do your on-foot rhino tracking activity. Later, you will embark on your journey, have lunch in Masindi then head to Murchison Falls National Park where you will be driven direct to the top of the falls for the Murchison falls experience as the water plunges down the devil’s caldron into the Victoria Nile. Later you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive-Afternoon boat cruise
You will have an early morning breakfast and with your packed lunch, proceed for a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, giving you a great chance of spotting animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeests, warthogs, oribis, water bucks, hyenas and different species of birds. After having your packed lunch, you will head for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of the tranquil Murchison Falls as you look out for the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and other animals like the water bucks, buffalos as they quench their thirst at the banks of the river and bird species. After return to your beautiful lodge, and enjoy the good night`s rest.

Day 4: Depart Murchison Falls National Park-Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. You will have lunch on the way then proceed to the park, arriving late evening and check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking-Evening game drive
After having your early morning breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge sector where you will be allowed to have a fascinating encounter with the chimpanzees. Later you will return to the lodge for your early lunch and then head out for an evening game drive in the Ishasha sector in search for tree climbing lions. Other game to see include elephants, gazelles, waterbucks, buffaloes, hippos among others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Morning boat cruise- Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After an early morning breakfast, proceed directly for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which is home to one of the largest concentrations of hippopotamus, as well as herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that come to drink from the river. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African eagle, Open-billed stork, and Pied kingfishers. You will have your packed lunch and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and upon arrival, you will check in direct to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next days’ activity.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking-Batwa cultural encounter
After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts and later hit the forest in search of the gorillas. Upon locating one of the gorilla families, you will be given one hour their presence as you enjoy their daily activities. later, you will head back to the headquarter where you will be awarded with a gorilla certificate as a way of welcoming you back from the adventurous activity. You will head back to the lodge for lunch and later in the evening, you will go the cultural encounter with the batwa. Listening to their stories, fork songs and dances, will leave you with the best memories. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Requirements for the Safari
- A Visa – you can apply for the visa online or very easily get one at the point of entry into the country (airport)
- Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking permits and you can apply and secure these on line but experience has shown that it is better coordinated when you send money to the tour firm to handle it for you at no extra cost.

Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers
Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
