This 10 Days Gorilla & Adventure Safari: takes you to Jinja Town located in south-eastern Uganda and its where the source of the River Nile is located. The safari then takes you across to Kidepo Valley National Park in Northern Uganda, to see the beautiful and the unique unspoiled landscape and incredible variety of wildlife in this hidden haven. The safari will continue to the Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda, renowned for its scenic beauty and the spectacular falls from which it derives its name. You will enjoy memorable game drives, a boat cruise and viewing of the mesmerizing scenery in this national park. This safari will also take you to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of the world, to trek the wild but habituated chimpanzees. The climax of the Gorilla & Adventure Safari will be an encounter with the elusive Mountain Gorillas in the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and to interact with the former forest people, the Batwa, who used to live in this forest before it was gazetted as a national Park.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda-Transfer to your lodge

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja-Source of the Nile
Your driver will pick you after a morning breakfast and transfer you to Jinja. You will have a brief stopover at Mabira Forest, the largest remaining tropical forest in Central Uganda and continue to the Source of the Nile in Jinja. You will explore the source of the Nile by boat and later have a brief drive through the historical town before heading to your accommodation.

Day 3: Depart Jinja-Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After an early morning breakfast, embark on a long adventurous road trip to the very far north east of Uganda to the wild Kidepo Valley National Park driving through Pian-Upe Game reserve. You will have your packed lunch on the way as you continue with the journey, viewing the beautiful landscape and some wildlife. Upon arrival, you will check in direct to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Community visit-Evening game drive
Today you will have a lazy morning allowing you to rest after the long journey. In the late morning hours, you will be taken on guided cultural village tour where you will learn about the nomadic lifestyle of the karamajong people. During this cultural tour you will visit the Karamajong homesteads (manyattas) and kraals, traditional instruments like stools, spears, knives, bows and arrows, jewelry, grinding stones and utensils locally made by the natives and also enjoy their stories, fork songs and dances. After you will head back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an evening game drive. During the game drive, you will look out for different animals such as lions, buffalos, cheetahs, jakals, zebras, elephants, leopards and much more. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, you will set off for the tranquil Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take you through Kitgum and Gulu towns before reaching Murchison Falls National Park. You will be transferred straight to your lodge where you will check in and spend the night.

Day 6: Game drive – Boat cruise
After breakfast, proceed for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, giving you a great chance of seeing animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeests and different species of birds. After having your packed lunch, the day will continue with a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the base of the tranquil Murchison Falls. Look out for the Nile crocodile, hippos, and a variety of bird species. After return to your beautiful lodge, and enjoy the good night’s rest.

Day 7: Depart Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the falls-Transfer to Kibale National Park
After an early morning breakfast, check out and head to the top of the falls. While here, you will have clear views of the falls, take photos and videos for memories back home. Later start on your journey to Kibale Forest National Park in western part of the country. You will have your packed lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking-Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast you will report to the headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations before tracking the chimpanzees. The location of the chimpanzees depends on where they spent their night and this gives you an opportunity to also see a variety of other primates as well as birds, and various species of butterflies and insects. Later you will return to the lodge for an early lunch and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will spend the night as you wait to track the forest gentles the following morning.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking-Community visit
After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the headquarters for a briefing and under the guidance of your assigned ranger, you will hit the forest in search of the gorillas. Upon locating one of the gorillas you will be given one hour as you watch those majestic giants. The whole activity can last from a few hours up to a full day, depending on the location of the gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest. Later in the evening, you will go an evening cultural experience of the batwa people who used to live in the forest with the gorillas. Listening to the stories and songs of these people will leave you amazed with great memories. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 10: Transfer back to Entebbe

Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage, we also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
