Pineapple Guesthouse: Pineapple is a symbol of welcome and hospitality in many cultures and at Pineapple Guesthouse they continue this traditional to ensure all their visitors have an enjoyable and relaxing time during their stay with them. Pineapple Guesthouse is situated on a quite hill near the State House, only 10 minutes from Entebbe International Airport.
Accommodation
Pineapple Guesthouse is a mixture of colonial style furniture and African fabrics, art and artefacts create a colourful homely and restful ambience. All bedrooms in the main house have free, fast Wi-Fi and a flat screen satellite DSTV with multiple channel selection. The en-suite facilities have instant, rainforest volume, hot showers, bathrobes and additional towels for swimming. Each bedroom has easy seating, a desk, chair and desk light and a docking station with USB ports for charging phones, shavers, cameras etc. There is a secure box for passports and valuables in each room. The family room in the main house has a ceiling fan and a balcony. The double (queen size) four poster bed has individual reading lights and a mosquito net. One window overlooks the garden and in the other direction, a picture window has wide sliding doors which open onto the balcony, giving a lake view facing west catching superb sunsets over the water.
Double Room with Lake View
The double room in the main house has a high ceiling, ceiling fan and a balcony with a lake view. The double (queen size) four poster bed has individual reading lights and a mosquito net. There is easy seating, a desk with a chair and a desk light. The desk window overlooks the garden and in the same direction, the west facing balcony has a lake view catching superb sunsets over the water.
Double Room with Garden View
A comfortable room in the main house, with a high ceiling and ceiling fan has a double (queen size), four poster bed, reading lights and mosquito net. There is easy seating, a desk with a chair and a reading light. One bedroom window overlooks the garden and there is a lake view from the shower room.
Single Room with Balcony
A comfortable room in the main house, with a high ceiling and ceiling fan has a large single width four poster bed, reading light and mosquito net. There is easy seating, a desk with a chair and a reading light. The bedroom window and the balcony overlook the garden.
Pineapple Cottage
The self-contained serviced cottage has its own private garden with outdoor furniture for dining and relaxing. The bedroom has a double four poster bed, individual reading lights, ceiling fan and mosquito net. In the kitchen there is a fridge, gas hob, micro-wave, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The bathroom has a lake view and instant rainforest volume hot shower. The cottage has free fast Wi-Fi and a flat screen satellite DSTV with multiple channel selection. A welcoming tropical fruit basket and a selection of teas and coffee are provided.
Facilities
Garden
The garden at Pineapple has been designed to create a variety of quiet, shady colourful spaces where you can read, work or relax on the wooden deck chairs, the stone bench or the sun beds and enjoy the view of the pool, the lake or the sunset with your favourite drink. A selection of flowers and shrubs have been chosen which attract birds and butterflies and as an appropriate exotic feature, there is a flower bed with nine varieties of ornamental pineapple.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool has a unique design being lined with the very attractive local coloured slate in several shades of cream, orange, deep pink, grey and occasionally jade green and its non-slip surface which makes a perfect path around the pool.
Services
Meals
Guests can choose to have their meals on the dining veranda, in the garden or by the pool. If it is raining, meals are served indoors. The buffet breakfast is included in the main house room rates and self-catering guests in the cottage are welcome to have a buffet breakfast at a cost of $5 extra or a cooked breakfast at $10 extra per person. Buffet breakfasts offer a choice of fruit juices, tropical fruit, home-made muesli, granola, cereals, cheese, salami, yoghurt, bread or toast and a selection of Ugandan honey, jam and marmalade.
Lunch
Lunch is two courses, costs $10 and can be ordered at breakfast time by filling in the meal form. Lunch may be a seasonal salad or an egg dish with either a bowl of soup or a pudding. Packed lunch could be sandwiches or a salad, a boiled egg, fresh fruit and a drink.
Dinner
Dinner is three courses, costs $15, and can be ordered by filling in the meal form. The dinner meal of the day, with a vegetarian option is usually served at 7.00pm.
Drinks
The honesty bar is in the corner of the living room with a choice of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Roasted groundnuts and wooden serving bowls are available in the bar area. Guests can use the labels provided to mark their bottle of wine. There is a price list and sign-up sheet so that guests can help themselves.
